Does it cost anything to list my business?
No. Listing your business on Locals of Texas is free. Optional paid extras, like a Featured slot, are there if you want more visibility, but you never need one to be listed or found.
Who checks the listings on Locals of Texas?
A person, not software. Every new listing and every ownership claim is reviewed by hand. We confirm the business is real, located in Texas and in the right category, and we remove listings that break the rules.
How long until my listing goes live?
Most listings are approved within 1 to 2 business days. Fill in the short form at localsoftexas.com/add-business, a real person reviews it, and if we need more information, we email you.
I'm already on Google. Why list here too?
Big search sites show everyone, national chains included, and paid ads often sit above the best local option. Locals of Texas lists only small and independent Texas businesses, so neighbors who want to buy local find you without the noise.
I work from home and have no storefront. Can I still be listed?
Yes. Home bakers, handymen, photographers, market vendors and other one-person businesses are exactly who this directory is for. You can keep your street address off your public listing.
Someone already added my business. How do I manage it?
Open your listing and choose Claim this business. Once we confirm you are the owner, you can update your photos, description and contact details anytime.
What does a Featured slot do?
It is a paid, time-limited placement that shows your listing on your city page and the homepage. Each city has up to 6 Featured slots, filled in the order businesses join the queue, so everyone gets a fair turn.
You're not in my city yet. Now what?
Locals of Texas is growing one city at a time. We can't accept submissions for cities we haven't opened yet, but check back as we grow. Each city we serve has its own dedicated page.
